Job Purpose:
Responsible for leading a team of engineers in the planning, design, and development of photovoltaic (PV) systems. This role involves overseeing technical design activities, ensuring compliance with electrical and safety standards, coordinating with project stakeholders, and delivering efficient and cost-effective solar energy solutions. Ensures all designs meet performance, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end design process of solar PV systems (residential, commercial, or utility-scale).
- Manage and assign tasks to design team members.
- Monitor progress and quality of design deliverables.
- Administer the generation of technical reports, energy yield simulations, and bill of materials (BOM)
System Design Review:
- Lead system layout creation (roof-mounted, ground-mounted, carports, etc.).
- Validate electrical design calculations and layout drawings.
- Ensure accurate use of PV design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PVSyst)
Technical Compliance:
- Ensure all designs comply with local/national electrical codes, utility interconnection requirements, and building standards.
Job Qualifications and Competencies Requirement :
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, licensed is an advantage
- Minimum 3 years experience in solar PV system design.
- Proficiency in solar PV design software (AutoCAD, PVSyst, Helioscope, SketchUp).
- Familiarity with grid-tied and off-grid systems, energy storage, and hybrid configurations.
