Job Summary
We are seeking a competent and detail-oriented Design and Cost Engineer (Electrical) to support the preparation of electrical designs, cost estimates, proposals, and project documentation. The ideal candidate should have experience in electrical design and costing for building facilities, transmission and distribution lines, and substations. Experience in Solar PV system design is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare electrical designs, layouts, and technical drawings for various projects.
- Develop detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and project budgets.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), material take-offs, and cost analyses.
- Assist in the preparation of technical and commercial proposals.
- Review project plans, specifications, and client requirements.
- Coordinate with project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors regarding design and costing requirements.
- Conduct value engineering and recommend cost-effective design solutions.
- Support project planning, bidding, and tendering activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and project specifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Preferably a Licensed Electrical Engineer.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in electrical design and cost estimation.
- Experience in building facilities, transmission and distribution lines, and substations.
- Knowledge of Solar PV system design is an advantage.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and electrical design and estimation software.
- Knowledgeable in proposal preparation, BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, and cost estimation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
