Position Overview

As the Assistant Manager of IRD (Interest Rate Derivatives) Trade Validation, you will serve as an Individual Contributor accountable for delivering trade support activities within the OTC & LD (Over-the-Counter & Listed Derivatives) team. Your primary mandate is to ensure that all IRD transactions are correctly represented in the booking systems, consistent with the original sale, and accurately fed from Front Office (FO) to Back Office (BO) systems. This role focuses on the accurate validation of OTC derivative products, managing trade amendments, performing PV (Present Value) checks, and running essential controls to prevent position mismatches.

Job Responsibilities

  • Trade Validation & Booking: Execute booking validation for IRD trades at inception and manage amendments in accordance with the Amend & Cancel policy. Ensure trade amendments are performed timely and that PV is validated.
  • Risk Management & Control: Implement transversal controls to comply with new regulatory constraints; define and implement remediation plans following potential incidents; and escalate any trade mismatches to the Front Office and Management to prevent incorrect positions.
  • Stakeholder Management & Liaison: Build and maintain strong associations with Desk Heads, Traders, Business Managers, and Sales teams. Act as a liaison with Service Control utilities to resolve trade-related FO/BO breaks.
  • Process Transformation & Improvement: Contribute to transformation projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Work closely with Global Operations leads and Front-to-Back teams to eliminate manual work and drive higher STP (Straight-Through Processing) rates.
  • Mentorship & Support: Provide guidance and training to junior team members and offer solutions to new business initiatives by reviewing workflows and proposing enhancements.

Required Education, Skills and Experience (must have)

  • Experience: At least 8+ years of relevant work experience in Investment Banking operations.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Financial Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Product Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of Interest Rate Derivatives (IRS, CCS, Swaption, Range, Callable) and FX Options.
  • Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with VBA (developing and modifying Macro spreadsheets) and strong proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
  • Functional Expertise: Strong familiarity with Middle Office support functions and trade validation processes.
  • Behavioral Competencies:
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • A resourceful, results-oriented mindset with a strong team spirit.

Preferred Education, Skills and Experience (nice to have)

  • Advanced Degree: A Master's Degree in a finance-related field.
  • Automation Expertise: Proven track record in driving automation projects to reduce manual intervention in trade lifecycles.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of evolving regulatory constraints impacting OTC derivatives.
  • Project Management: Experience in leading or contributing significantly to operational transformation or change management projects.
