EQUIP-HWCs is a multi-site implementation research and a
national health priority project funded by
ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) and Gates Foundation being conducted in Salumbar district, Rajasthan in collaboration with district health department. This implementation research project focuses on developing a successful model to deliver 12 comprehensive primary healthcare (CPHC) services through the public health system across all health and wellness centers by emphasizing quality, equity and core values. This project will be undertaken by the Centre for Healthcare at IIM Udaipur in collaboration with Basic Healthcare Services. The role of the
Deputy Lead, Program Support is to oversee and ensure the smooth execution of the EQUIP project, where the team will work on strengthening the existing Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) to deliver 12 comprehensive primary healthcare services which they are designed to deliver. This role involves managing on-ground activities, coordinating with stakeholders, ensuring project deliverables, monitoring progress to achieve desired outcomes effectively and reporting the same. The lead will play an important role in bridging the planning and execution to ensure that the project objectives and community needs are fulfilled. The Deputy Lead will work closely with the Lead, Program Support and the field team and report to him.
Key Responsibilities
- Execution:
- Execute project activities as per the project plan and intervention design
- Ensure compliance with the defined timelines, objectives, and standards.
- Develop monthly plan for the field teams to ensure smooth implementation.
- Participate and contribute to innovative implementation research solutions that can be implemented
- Stakeholder Coordination:
- Collaborate with internal teams, community leaders, public health officials, and the team of AAMs (or HWCs)
- Facilitate FGDs, meetings with the stakeholders, training sessions, and community outreach activities.
- Monitoring & Reporting:
- Provide guidance, mentorship and supportive supervision to the Technical Officers
- Ensure proper data collection for the baseline – community based surveys and facility assessments.
- Prepare regular reports and share them with Lead-Program Support to provide updates for the Investigators, the research team and district health officials.
- Document the processes, best practices, challenges, and learnings from the field.
- Monitor baseline/endline data collection from all six blocks of the district, and implement the model developed after the assessment in the intervention blocks
- Community Engagement:
- Build trust and rapport with target beneficiaries and stakeholders.
- Address community concerns and feedback to refine program delivery.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Maintain records of program activities, attendance, reports and resources.
- Ensure compliance of the implementation team with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Professionals with master's in public health or healthcare management. A minimum of
2 years of experience in implementing community-based health programmes is desired.
Essential attributes
- Good understanding of public health system & national health programs
- The project implementation area is Salumber district, Rajasthan. The selected candidates will have to stay in the field area in Salumber district for the entire duration of the project
- Good command over English and Hindi languages
Desired attributes
- Candidates with experience in intervention/ implementation research/ health systems research in tribal areas is preferred
- Excellent written and communications skills, interpersonal skills, organizational and networking skills
- Prior experience of people management
Consolidated remuneration per month
Starts at Rs. 45,000 per month, commensurate with qualification and relevant experience.

This job contract will be for 16 months or the end of the project, whichever is earlier.
