Job Description

A leading geotechnical contractor with a global presence is seeking a Deputy Finance Manager to join their team in Makati City. What youll do:

As Deputy Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the finance function across multiple business units. Success in this role requires attention to detail when reviewing financial proactive engagement during effective communication with collaborative coordination of analytical skills for variance diligent oversight of treasury supportive supervision of team and a commitment to continuous process improvement. You will be instrumental in driving efficiency within the finance department while fostering a culture of inclusivity and professional development.

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Maintain general ledger integrity through reconciliations and closing activities, supporting robust financial operations.
  • Assist in external and internal audits by addressing findings promptly and ensuring all documentation meets regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure timely tax filings and statutory reporting with the support of tax consultants, maintaining adherence to local regulations.
  • Support tax audits by collaborating with consultants and implementing mitigation actions for identified risks.
  • Coordinate preparation and monthly updates of project budgets as well as overheads budgets, monitoring actual performance against targets.
  • Analyze variances between budgeted and actual figures, providing insightful reports for management decision-making.
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity position, and working capital to optimize treasury functions within the organization.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and payable processes, supporting banking operations, payments, and cash forecasting.
  • Supervise finance staff by mentoring team members, reviewing outputs for accuracy, participating in performance planning, and identifying process improvements.

What you bring:

The role calls for a candidate who brings substantial experience from external audit or finance rolesideally within the construction sectorto ensure seamless integration into project-based environments.   • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field is required for this position.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) qualification is highly preferred as it demonstrates advanced technical proficiency.
  • Postgraduate qualifications such as MBA or Masters in Finance are considered advantageous for broader strategic insight.
  • Minimum of 7 years work experience in external audit, cost control, FP&A or finance ensures you bring proven expertise to the role.
  • Previous experience in the construction sector is ideal as it provides relevant industry context for financial operations.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential for effective interaction with multicultural teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work autonomously in non-structured environments highlights your adaptability and self-management capabilities.
