What is this role about

The Depot Audit Officer is responsible for auditing and analyzing depot inventory operations to detect, investigate, and resolve variances such as oil gains or losses. The role involves coordinating with depot management, identifying root causes of discrepancies, recommending corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with audit resolutions. It also includes leading process improvement initiatives and mentoring junior audit staff to uphold audit standards and best practices.

What will YOU do

  • Inspect and monitor depot inventory to identify variances such as oil gains or losses and assess their accuracy and impact
  • Monitor daily inventory discrepancies to inquire via email and immediately initiate investigations for variances beyond established thresholds
  • Ensure to engage with depot heads and terminal officers to validate unusually high inventory variances and gather supporting information
  • Review and evaluate daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory variance data to assess depot performance and trends
  • Prepare and present evaluations and actionable audit recommendations during exit meetings with depot or terminal management and on occasional bases when the need so requires
  • Monitor depot compliance with agreed-upon corrective actions from prior audits to ensure timely resolution and risk mitigation
  • Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing audit and depot operational processes, in coordination with the Audit Manager
  • Organize and lead collaboration meetings with stakeholders to discuss audit findings, root causes, and proposed solutions
  • Assist the Audit Manager in refining audit methodologies, tools, and procedures for greater efficiency and effectiveness
  • Coach and train newly hired auditors to ensure they understand audit procedures, systems, and company policies before deployment

What will YOU need

  • With 2 years of related experience in Internal Audit or any related field
  • bachelor's degree in Petroleum or Marine Engineering or any Accounting related courses
