The Deployment Officer is responsible for executing technology deployments across both non-production and production environments in a secure, controlled, and compliant manner. This role ensures that all deployments follow approved change requests, release schedules, deployment procedures, and rollback plans to minimize risk and maintain system stability.

Working as part of a key control function, the Deployment Officer helps ensure the smooth and reliable release of applications and infrastructure changes while supporting service availability, operational readiness, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute application and infrastructure deployments across non-production and production environments following approved processes and schedules.
• Validate deployment readiness by ensuring required approvals, release packages, deployment scripts, and rollback plans are in place.
• Follow deployment controls, security standards, and escalation procedures to ensure safe and successful releases.
• Monitor deployment activities and communicate status updates, issues, and outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
• Support post-deployment verification, service readiness checks, and operational handovers.
• Maintain accurate deployment records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
• Participate in change and release review activities, providing deployment readiness and risk-related inputs.
• Identify opportunities to improve deployment processes through automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Infrastructure, Security, and Application teams to ensure efficient and reliable deployments.
• Escalate deployment risks, issues, and process deviations promptly to the Deployment Lead.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in Release Deployment, Release Engineering, DevOps, IT Operations, or related roles.
• Hands-on experience supporting application and infrastructure deployments in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, including Windows Server administration.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab.
• Basic scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell, and Python.
• Familiarity with change management, release management, and deployment best practices.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and attention to detail.
