Role Description The Demand Planning Manager is responsible for leading Demand Planning, Commercial Planning, and Principal Engagement to ensure accurate demand forecasts, inventory optimization, and successful execution of commercial initiatives.
The role partners closely with Sales, Supply Planning, Procurement, Warehouse Operations, and Principals to validate demand assumptions, align forecasts, and support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).
This position also drives Commercial Planning by leading forecast firming with Sales and Principals, translating demand into build-level, customer-level, and SKU-level plans, and ensuring effective execution governance and communication across stakeholders.
As the primary planning representative to Principals, the Demand Planning Manager leads regular engagements on demand forecasts, promotional activities, new product launches, and other commercial initiatives to support business growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Demand Planning
- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical sales data, market trends, promotional activities, and business insights.
- Analyze forecast accuracy, identify demand patterns, and implement initiatives to continuously improve forecasting performance.
- Monitor inventory health, including stock availability, excess inventory, slow-moving items, and stock-out risks.
- Partner with Supply Planning and Warehouse Operations to ensure optimal inventory levels and product availability.
Commercial Planning
- Collaborate closely with Sales and Principals to validate, align, and finalize demand forecasts.
- Translate demand forecasts into build plans, customer-level forecasts, and SKU-level demand plans.
- Lead forecast firming activities and ensure alignment between commercial plans and operational execution.
- Drive execution governance and effectively cascade approved demand plans across cross-functional teams.
- Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) by providing accurate demand insights and recommendations.
Principal Engagement
- Serve as the primary planning contact for assigned Principals.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with Principals through regular planning and business review meetings.
- Coordinate demand forecasts, promotional activities, new product launches, product transitions, and other commercial initiatives with Principals.
- Ensure alignment between Principal requirements and MDCI's supply chain capabilities to support business objectives.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Lead, coach, and develop the Demand Planning team to achieve business and operational goals.
- Prepare and present demand planning reports, dashboards, and business insights to management and stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve demand planning processes, systems, and reporting tools.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration to enhance forecast accuracy, inventory performance, and overall supply chain efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory Management, or Supply Chain.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership or people management experience.
- Strong expertise in demand forecasting, inventory planning, replenishment, and inventory optimization.
- Advanced analytical skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, SAGE, or similar planning platforms.
- Background in FMCG, distribution, or logistics is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Libis, Quezon City and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
