Job Summary
The Supply Planning & Procurement Manager is the S&OP Champion of the organization, responsible for integrating demand planning, supply planning, procurement, importation, and local purchasing to ensure optimal product availability, cost efficiency, and profitability. This role manages heavy importation into the Philippines and local sourcing, ensuring full compliance with Philippine customs, trade regulations, and government requirements while supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities
S&OP Leadership (Champion Role)
- Own and lead the end-to-end Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process
- Facilitate monthly S&OP cycles: demand review, supply review, pre-S&OP, and executive S&OP meetings
- Align Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations on volume, mix, inventory, and financial targets
- Translate S&OP decisions into executable procurement, importation, and local purchasing plans
- Drive continuous improvement of S&OP governance, discipline, and maturity
Supply Planning & Demand Alignment
- Convert demand forecasts into integrated supply plans considering long import lead times to the Philippines
- Identify and mitigate supply risks related to overseas suppliers, port congestion, customs delays, and local vendor constraints
International Procurement & Importation (Philippines)
- Lead overseas sourcing and procurement aligned with approved S&OP plans
- Negotiate pricing, MOQs, lead times, Incoterms, and payment terms with foreign suppliers
- Own the full importation process from PO issuance to customs clearance and warehouse delivery
- Ensure compliance with Bureau of Customs (BOC) regulations, tariff classification, and valuation
- Manage import permits and regulatory clearances as applicable (e.g., FDA, DENR, DTI, DOE, DA)
- Optimize landed cost through freight mode selection, consolidation, and duty/tax management
Local Purchasing & Supplier Management
- Oversee local purchasing to support imported items, fast-moving SKUs, and contingency supply
- Develop and manage local supplier contracts, pricing agreements, and service levels
- Ensure compliance with Philippine commercial, tax, and documentation requirements
- Drive cost savings, reliability, and quality improvements from local vendors
Inventory, Warehousing & Logistics Coordination
- Align import arrival and local delivery schedules with warehouse capacity and nationwide distribution
- Monitor inventory aging, slow-moving, and obsolete stocks
- Minimize demurrage, detention, and storage costs at Philippine ports and warehouses
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Track and report KPIs related to S&OP, procurement, importation, and local purchasing
- Strengthen SOPs, controls, and ERP / planning tool usage
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain operations
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field
Experience
- 812 years of experience in supply planning, procurement, or trading operations
- Strong hands-on experience in importation into the Philippines
- Proven experience leading or championing S&OP
- Experience managing both foreign and local Philippine suppliers
- People management experience
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Philippine importation and customs processes
- Working knowledge of BOC procedures, tariff classification, and valuation
- Solid grasp of Incoterms, international trade, and shipping documentation
- Strong local procurement and vendor negotiation skills
- Commercial and landed-cost management capability
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and executive presentation skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Odoo is an advantage) and advanced Excel
