Miriam College invites applications for the position of Dean of the College — a senior academic leader who will serve as the unified head of the institution's single-college structure. The Dean will provide strategic, intellectual, and administrative leadership across all disciplines and programs, ensuring academic excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and alignment with Miriam College's mission of holistic education rooted in the values of justice, integrity, and service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Academic Direction & Program Stewardship
Oversee the curriculum, academic standards, and program quality across all departments — spanning the humanities, social sciences, sciences, education, business, and professional programs. Lead periodic review and continuous improvement of degree offerings in collaboration with department chairs and faculty.
Faculty Development & Support
Champion recruitment, mentorship, promotion, and retention of a diverse and distinguished faculty. Foster a culture of scholarly inquiry, pedagogical innovation, and professional growth. Oversee faculty performance evaluation in coordination with department heads.
Interdisciplinary Integration
Champion cross-disciplinary learning, research, and collaboration across departments. Develop and sustain integrative programs, co-curricular initiatives, and academic partnerships that break down silos and reflect the College's unified structure.
Strategic Planning & Institutional Development
Contribute to and execute the College's strategic plan in alignment with institutional goals. Lead academic initiatives related to accreditation, outcomes assessment, enrollment management, and institutional research in coordination with the Office of the President and Board of Trustees.
Administrative & Budget Oversight
Manage academic budgets, resource allocation, and operational matters across all units under the College. Ensure efficient and equitable distribution of resources in support of teaching, research, and student services.
Student Success & Well-being
Advance a learning environment that supports student achievement, inclusion, and formation. Work closely with student affairs, admissions, and support services to ensure holistic student development aligned with Miriam College's tradition.
External Relations & Community Engagement
Represent the College in national and international academic communities. Build partnerships with industry, government, civic organizations, and alumni. Support fundraising, grants acquisition, and research collaboration in line with institutional priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
■ Doctoral degree (Ph.D. EdD, DBA or equivalent terminal degree) in any discipline
■ At least 10 years of academic experience, including 5 years in an administrative or leadership role
■ Demonstrated record of scholarly achievement and academic integrity
■ Experience managing multi-disciplinary academic units or programs
■ Commitment to gender-responsive, inclusive, and values-based education
Preferred Qualifications
■ Experience in a Catholic or mission-driven educational institution
■ Familiarity with CHED accreditation processes and Philippine higher education policy
■ Track record in securing grants or external funding
■ Experience with curriculum transformation and outcomes-based education (OBE)
■ Strong network in local and international academic and professional communities

REPORTING STRUCTURE
The Dean of the College reports directly to the Vice President for Academic Affairs of Miriam College and serves as a member of the President's Council. The Dean provides academic oversight to all department chairs, program coordinators, and academic support units across the College's unified structure.
