The Role

The Deal Execution Team Head is concerned with both execution and origination of IB deals. Together with SB Capital's senior officers, Deal Execution Team Head's duties and responsibilities include origination/deal structuring, deal management/negotiation and client relationship management. The primary task of the Deal Execution Team Head is to lead the execution of transactions and thus expected to be able to effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders (including clients, other investment houses, key industry players, and regulatory bodies). You should also have the ability to assist the Coverage and Origination Team Heads in origination pitches as well manage the execution of investment banking projects (including equity and debt underwriting, project finance transaction, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and advisory) through constant collaboration and coordination with senior officers, deal team members, Bank Relationship Manager (RM) partners for specific accounts, and other members of the internal banking network. Finally, in preparation for the role, you will also be given origination targets (albeit smaller in scale vis-à-vis the Coverage and Origination Deal Team Head)

How You'll Contribute

  • Client Relationship Management
    • Performs client relationship management roles together with President and Co-Head, Investment Banking to generate revenue targets.
    • Works closely with assigned Banking Relationship Manager partners in the joint coverage of assigned accounts through formulation, development, and execution of a calling program to strengthen relationships with assigned accounts and generate investment banking business.
  • Deal Management / Negotiation
    • Manages and develops the structuring of the investment banking deals by developing effective structures, pricing, and distribution strategies in consultation with the President and Co-Head, Investment Banking as well as other Directors to achieve revenue targets.
  • Effective Communication Skills
    • Establishes personal contact with key industry players, other investment houses, customers, and regulatory bodies through constant communication for future inquiries/ correspondences.
  • Leadership/Management
    • Formulates, implements, and redefines, if necessary, the overall investment banking strategies to achieve the team's goals.
  • Project/Program Management
    • Initiates and manages the execution of investment banking projects including equity and debt underwriting, project finance transactions, and M&A and Advisory by working closely with his supervisors and the respective deal teams to meet project timelines.
  • Performs other related tasks which may be assigned from time to time.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Studies/Administration/Management, Economics, Finance/Accountancy/Banking or any related field.
  • At least 5 - 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Specializes in Banking and Financial, Corporate Finance/Investment, Sales-Financial Services
  • Requires a solid understanding of the various products which SB Capital undertakes or offers to clients, and/or at the very least, has the ability to quickly grasp concepts in relation to such or new products;
  • Should be able to spot opportunities for deals, structure transactions accordingly (bearing in mind both commercial and regulatory considerations) in coordination with senior officers, and coordinate with partner RMs for specific accounts.
  • Should, as much as possible, be aware of (1) recent and upcoming deals in equity capital markets, debt capital markets, M&A, etc. and the corresponding relevant details for purpose of both origination and structuring other deals (2) changes in the regulatory environment insofar as such relate to the products, services and transactions of SB Capital; and (3) relevant macroeconomic developments.
  • CPA, CFA, or Fixed-Income or Equities salesman licensed by SEC, desirable but not required.
  • Knowledge of investment banking products, services, and processes
  • Effective marketing, sales, and negotiating skills
  • Able to originate and execute investment banking transactions
