Your Role And Responsibilities

As Database Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, scalability, and reliability of cloud-based database platforms. This role applies Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to database systems, focusing on automation, observability, resilience, and operational excellence across production environments. You will work closely with application engineers, platform teams, and security to design, operate, and continuously improve database systems running in the cloud.

  • Manage and support cloud databases such as: AWS RDS / Aurora / DynamoDB / ElasticCache
  • Strong experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases
  • PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.
  • Hands-on experience managing cloud-native databases
  • Solid understanding of SRE concepts (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets)
  • Experience with Linux systems and networking fundamentals
  • Proficiency in SQL and performance tuning

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

  • Exposure to NoSQL Databases: Experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, and CouchbaseDB, including their specific features, strengths, and weaknesses.
  • Cloud Platform Expertise: Exposure to cloud platforms and experience with installing, configuring, and upgrading NoSQL server software and related products on these platforms.
  • Database Management: Experience working with database management systems, including data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance.
  • Cloud-Specific Services: Exposure to cloud-specific database services and best practices, including scalability, security, and high-performance database solutions.
  • Database Administration: Experience with database administration tasks, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, and backup and recovery procedures.
