You own the conceptual, logical, and physical database designs that power data-driven solutions for complex environmental management projects. You are responsible for the technical precision of T-SQL optimization and structured data modeling, providing the backbone for system reliability and performance.

This is a high-accountability technical role. You operate within the Data Team, collaborating with cloud architects and developers to refactor indexes, troubleshoot stored procedures, and monitor server health. Best suited for mid-to-senior level professionals who thrive in technical rigor, value documentation accuracy, and prefer a structured environment focused on measurable system impact.

You're Likely a Strong Fit If You Have

• 35+ years of experience in database design, data modeling, or SQL development within high-stakes production environments.
• Deep proficiency in T-SQL and MS SQL Server, with a proven track record of writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex stored procedures.
• Direct ownership of technical data documentation, including data dictionaries, metadata organization, and system catalogs.
• Proven exposure to performance tuning, query execution plan analysis, and cloud-based infrastructure (AWS RDS preferred).
• Ability and willingness to work a permanent night shift (12:00 AM9:00 AM) in a remote setup.

Strong Signals

• Hands-on experience with AWS RDS or similar cloud-managed database services.
• Expert-level understanding of indexing strategies and deadlock resolution.
• Experience working within environmental engineering or data-heavy infrastructure projects.

Database Architecture & Design

You own the integrity of the database structure, ensuring models translate complex business needs into efficient physical schemas.

• Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Design schema changes that support scalability and data integrity.
• Collaborate with Cloud Architects to align database design with AWS infrastructure.

Query Optimization & Performance

You are accountable for the speed and reliability of the data layer, ensuring high-performance outputs for the application team.

• Write and refactor advanced T-SQL, stored procedures, and views.
• Execute performance tuning, index optimization, and deadlock resolution.
• Monitor server health and implement preventive measures for query latency.

Data Documentation & Governance

You transform complex technical structures into organized, accessible system documentation.

• Maintain comprehensive data dictionaries and system catalogs.
• Standardize metadata organization across different data environments.
• Ensure all database changes follow established QA standards and documentation protocols.
