Job Description

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sets-up and maintains all databases for Production (PRD), Disaster and Recovery (DR), Development (DEV),

System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Environment.

Evaluates Database Version Releases, its improvements and impact to the Database Administration, security and

user experience.

Reviews, assesses and recommends Backup and Restore procedures to improve its turn around time (TAT) to

ensure its alignment with the bankwide business continuity recovery time objective (RTO) and/or guarantee better

RTO.

Performs daily/weekly and monthly database monitoring for trending and prognosis.

Performs the database capacity planning/sizing to create and maintain a database instance.

Investigates and troubleshoots issues and/or observed database irregularities in a limited time frame; quick and

precise.

Administers the Database User access creation, maintenance and deletion including the restrictions in accordance

with the prescribed policies and procedures of Information Security Department.

Develops and maintains set-up and configuration procedures including inventory of DB instances.

Develops and maintains back-up and restore procedures to ensure readiness of the bank during contingency

events.

Develops and maintains procedural guidelines for Data Center Operations Department in conducting regular

maintenance activities.

Participates in designing the database structure with the application development team (Business Application

System Support Department).

Ensures good health of the database via maintenance and performance tuning.

Formulates procedures and strategies for database backup, recovery and restoration for new system and process

improvements for the existing databases.

Ensures strict compliance with the bank's policies on confidentiality of information.

Provides onsite/offiste 24 by 7 system technical support as needed.

Recommends innovation and improvements on system infrastructure and standards

Conducts continuous research and development for problem isolation/resolution and technology update.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensures that high quality work and efficiency in Department operations are maintained at all times.

Adheres to the provisions of the bank's Code of Conduct and Discipline.

Reports any fraudulent, suspicious acts or unlawful activities / transactions immediately to the immediate head to

preempt potential risks to the bank.

Attends training and seminars deemed necessary such as BMI's, CORE-PRO, Vision Casting & Culture Building,

Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA) Training and others related to the position.

Maintains cleanliness and orderliness in the work station.

Ensures proper upkeep/maintenance of assigned equipment.

Uses Unit resources, i.e., utilities, supplies, judiciously.

Performs other functions that may be assigned from time to time.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science of any four (4) year course related to Information

Technology.

Minimum of one (1) year of working experience in Database Administration

Excellent command in English, both written and oral

Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of management

Keen to details; Strong analytical skills; Risk and result oriented
