Database Administrator (SQL & Oracle)

Immediate Hiring | DBA (SQL & Oracle) | Remote (India) | Contract Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (SQL & Oracle) to support our client, Costco, on a short-term, high-impact engagement.

Location: Remote – India

Duration: 1 Month (with potential extension)

Interview Process: Skype + Video Screening

Joining: Immediate availability preferred

What You'll Do:

• Review existing SQL Server and Oracle environments, including versions, configurations, maintenance processes, and backup practices.

• Plan and execute database upgrades and patching within defined maintenance windows.

• Implement and optimize backup and recovery strategies, including full/incremental backups, retention policies, and test restores.

• Document current-state and future-state environments, procedures, and recommendations.

• Assess additional requirements beyond the initial scope and provide input for follow-up work.

Must-Have Skills:

5+ years of hands-on DBA experience supporting both SQL Server and Oracle in production environments.

Proven expertise with database version upgrades and patching.

Strong experience designing, implementing, and testing backup/recovery strategies.

Ability to quickly assess existing environments and recommend practical solutions.

Excellent documentation and client-facing communication skills.

Experience with cloud-hosted databases (AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud).

Automation and scripting experience for database maintenance and backups.
