Job Title: Data SME – Azure & Databricks
Industry Focus: Banking / Financial Services
Experience Level: 7+ yrs
Role Purpose
We are looking for a Data SME to support a modern data engineering initiative built on Azure and Databricks. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on technical skills in SQL/Python with solid data warehousing knowledge to design, build, test, and troubleshoot data pipelines within a live banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Pipeline Build & Execution: Develop, test, and troubleshoot cloud data pipelines utilizing Azure and Databricks components.
- Data Warehousing & Modeling: Support data warehouse design, dimensional data modeling, and basic data quality frameworks.
- Scripting & Data Analysis: Write and optimize SQL and Python scripts for data extraction, transformation, validation, and profiling.
- Integration Support: Facilitate data flows across integration mechanisms including FTP/SFTP protocols, Message Queues (MQ), and REST APIs.
- SDLC Delivery: Support full software development lifecycle (SDLC) activities including requirement analysis, technical design, build, SIT/UAT testing, and deployment.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 7 to 10 years of total experience in Data Engineering / Data Analytics, preferably within Banking or Financial Services.
- Strong hands-on technical experience with Azure Cloud Services and Databricks.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python scripting.
- Solid understanding of core data warehousing concepts (dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, ETL/ELT pipelines).
- Working knowledge of integration interfaces (SFTP, MQ, REST APIs).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and team communication skills
