About the Role

We are looking for a Data Scientist / Analytics Consultant to work with a leading issuer bank in Singapore. This role will leverage large-scale transaction, portfolio and customer data to generate actionable insights and strategic recommendations that drive business growth and improve portfolio performance.

You will work closely with senior business stakeholders, translating complex data into clear insights and commercially impactful recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse large-scale transaction, portfolio and customer behavior data to identify growth and revenue opportunities.
• Drive insights across the customer lifecycle, including acquisition, activation, spend growth, retention and customer value.
• Conduct deep-dive analysis on portfolio trends, customer behavior, merchant spend and market opportunities.
• Develop dashboards, executive reports and presentations for senior management.
• Define KPIs and performance measurement frameworks to support business decisions.
• Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable business recommendations.
• Automate recurring reports and analytical processes to improve efficiency.
• Work with business stakeholders to understand challenges and translate them into analytics solutions.
• Present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders and decision-makers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or a related quantitative discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in Data Science, Advanced Analytics, Business Intelligence or Analytics Consulting.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python and SQL.
• Experience with Power BI / Tableau and advanced Excel/reporting.
• Strong statistical analysis, data visualization and storytelling skills.
• Experience with machine learning, predictive modelling and customer segmentation.
• Exposure to GenAI tools/platforms and cloud analytics platforms is preferred.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate data into commercial insights.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage analytical workstreams end-to-end.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in banking, financial services, payments, retail banking or credit card analytics.
• Knowledge of transaction, customer, portfolio, risk/credit or other financial datasets.
• Experience with customer lifecycle and portfolio analytics.
• Experience working in a client-facing consulting environment.
• Exposure to payments, merchant or transaction data ecosystems.
• Experience working directly with bank data teams or within a banking environment.
