Your Role
As a Data Scientist, you are responsible for:
- Developing, maintaining, and advancing the company's data and analytics capability to support operational performance, strategic decision-making, and business growth.
- Forecasting models, reporting frameworks, data pipelines, and insights generation across the organisation.
- Works closely with stakeholders across Operations, Finance, and Commercial teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and actionable data outputs, ensuring the company becomes a data-driven business.

Business Analyst, Technology Systems Engineer, Operations, Commercial, Customer Service, Finance, Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Strategy & Architecture
- Develop and maintain scalable data models and structures.
- Support the evolution toward a modern data stack and unified reporting framework.
Forecasting & Predictive Modelling
- Own forecasting capability across consignments, weight, cube, and volumes.
- Maintain and enhance existing models (Holt-Winters) and support progression toward
- machine learning models.
- Ensure forecasting outputs are accurate, reliable, and continuously improved.
Reporting & Dashboarding
- Develop and maintain dashboards (e.g., Power BI) across key business areas.
- Standardise reporting outputs and eliminate duplication or inconsistency.
- Deliver insights on key metrics such as fleet performance, DIFOT, utilisation, lane, and
- customer performance.
Data Quality & Governance
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across systems.
- Identify gaps in datasets and work with the business to improve data capture.
Business Insights & Decision Support
- Translate data into actionable insights for leadership and operational teams.
- Support strategic initiatives through data-led recommendations.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with the Business Analyst to deliver data requirements for projects.
Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.
Translate complex data into clear and compelling narratives that inform operational and
strategic decision-making.
Identify trends, patterns, and root causes to uncover actionable insights.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand analytical needs and deliver tailored reporting
solutions.
Design and maintain dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
Recommend enhancements to reporting frameworks and data processes.
Ensure data integrity and contribute to data governance initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Preferably with 3 to 5 years of experience in data analysis, data strategy & architecture, cost
- modelling, and reporting.
- Knowledgeable in Cloud applications, DataBricks, Snowflake.
- Practical experience with forecasting techniques and statistical models.
- Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI) and data querying (SQL, R, Python, or similar).
- Degree in Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate data into business insights.
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders across the business.
- Strong storytelling skills using data to influence through insights to a broad audience.
- Proven experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or reporting roles.
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience in logistics, transport, or operations-driven environments.
- Experience in TransVirtual, Transport Management System (TMS)
- Exposure to machine learning models and predictive analytics.
- Experience working with multi-system data environments.
- Exposure to the construction industry, with a strong understanding of business operations
- and KPIs.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Power BI Certification) are an advantage.
