Job description

We are seeking an experienced Data Science Delivery Lead to own delivery for a portfolio of client engagements within one of MathCo's delivery units. The person will be responsible for delivery excellence, client satisfaction, account growth, team leadership, and the financial health of their engagements.

The Delivery Lead will act as the primary delivery point of contact for client stakeholders at Director and VP levels, combine hands-on Data Science depth with program management discipline, and work closely with the Principal and Client Partners to deepen and expand client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Leadership

• Own end-to-end delivery across a portfolio of Analytics, AI, and Data Science engagements, from scoping and solution design through deployment and adoption.
• Ensure high-quality, on-time execution through sound delivery governance, quality reviews, and adherence to MathCo delivery standards.
• Plan and manage scope, timelines, resourcing, and dependencies; identify risks early and drive proactive issue resolution.
• Provide technical direction on problem framing, modeling approaches, and solution architecture, and review key deliverables for analytical rigor.
• Lead multi-disciplinary teams of Data Scientists, Senior Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Consultants across one or more client engagements.

Customer Success & Stakeholder Management

• Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders at Director and VP levels, particularly in the US market, and act as a strategic analytics advisor.
• Translate business problems into analytics roadmaps and ensure solutions deliver measurable business impact and adoption.
• Lead project reviews, quarterly business reviews, and steering committee updates in partnership with the Principal and Client Partners.

Account & Financial Ownership

• Own the financial health of assigned engagements, including revenue forecasting, margins, utilization, and billing.
• Identify extension and expansion opportunities within existing accounts and partner with Client Partners to convert them.
• Contribute to proposals, solutioning, effort estimation, and statements of work for renewals and new pursuits.
• Track and report delivery and operational metrics, ensuring engagement-level business goals are met.

People Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing Data Science and analytics teams.
• Coach team members on technical, consulting, and client-facing skills, and groom future engagement leaders.
• Drive staffing, hiring, performance management, and career development for team members.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and excellence.

Practice & Capability Building

• Contribute to the growth of the delivery unit and MathCo's priority industry verticals.
• Leverage strong Analytics and Data Science expertise to shape client solutions and introduce delivery innovation, including GenAI and MLOps adoption where relevant.
• Build reusable assets, accelerators, and best practices, and share learnings across teams.
• Stay current on trends in AI, machine learning, and analytics, and bring relevant ideas to clients and internal teams.
• Collaborate with Centers of Excellence (CoEs) on capability building and internal innovation initiatives.

Required Skills and Experience

• 12–16 years of experience in Analytics, Data Science, Data & AI, Consulting, or Technology Services, including at least 4–5 years in delivery or engagement leadership roles.
• Proven experience managing multiple concurrent engagements or a mid-sized delivery portfolio and leading cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated success in client-facing roles with global customers, particularly US-based stakeholders.
• Strong hands-on foundation as a Data Scientist, with working knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning, Python/SQL, and cloud data platforms, and a clear progression into delivery leadership.
• Experience managing engagement financials, including forecasting, margins, and utilization, with exposure to account growth and pre-sales.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence senior client stakeholders.
