Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

The Data Management Associate is primarily responsible for maintaining, validating, and managing master and transactional data across business systems, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity.

The Data Management Associate plays a critical role in supporting business operations by processing data requests, performing data quality checks, and maintaining SAP records in accordance with company policies and established service level agreements.

In all phases of the role, the Data Management Associate is responsible for conducting work in accordance with data governance standards, internal controls, and operational procedures.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Management Operations

  • Create, maintain, update, and validate master data records within SAP and other business systems.
  • Review and process data requests accurately and within established service level agreements.
  • Perform regular data quality checks to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency of information across systems.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve data discrepancies and inconsistencies in a timely manner.
  • Monitor data integrity and ensure compliance with established data governance standards.
  • Maintain appropriate supporting documentation for all data maintenance activities.

SAP Data Management

  • Process master data creation and maintenance activities within SAP, including customer, vendor, material, and financial master data, as applicable.
  • Review SAP transactions and records to ensure compliance with business rules and policies.
  • Support SAP system users by addressing data-related inquiries and issues.
  • Assist in SAP testing, data migration, and system enhancement activities when required.
  • Collaborate with functional teams to ensure accurate data setup and maintenance within SAP.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare and maintain reports related to data quality, data accuracy, and operational performance.
  • Analyze data trends and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Support stakeholders by providing accurate and timely data and reporting requirements.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and resolution of recurring data issues.

Process Improvement and Controls

  • Follow established data management controls and procedures to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data management processes and recommend efficiency enhancements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and automation projects related to data governance and management.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and audit requirements.

Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide effective solutions.
  • Communicate data issues, risks, and recommendations clearly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and operational requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Accountancy, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 1 to 3 years of experience in Data Management, Master Data Management, Shared Services, or related operational roles.
  • Experience working with SAP is required.
  • Knowledge of SAP Master Data Management processes is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and validation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling business information.
  • Experience in a Shared Services or Global Business Services environment is an advantage.
