About the role
Working as part of the technology team supporting Redcape's venues and retail sites, the Data Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the development, integration and performance of Redcape's Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), ensuring reliable, high-quality data flows that underpin reporting, analytics and decision-making across the business.
Role Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and optimize the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), including ETL pipelines, SQL Server/SSAS processes, and data models to ensure accurate, scalable, and high-performing data infrastructure.
- Manage data integration and onboarding for new venues, retail sites, and acquisitions, ensuring reliable data feeds from source systems such as POS, gaming, and membership platforms.
- Monitor data quality, troubleshoot integration issues, and maintain documentation and governance standards to ensure data integrity and system reliability.
- Enable business reporting by delivering a well-structured, high-performance data layer that supports Power BI and analytics initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to align data infrastructure with business needs, while supporting ad hoc projects, AI, and automation initiatives.
Pre-Requisite Knowledge and Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS (or equivalent ETL tools) and enterprise data warehouse design.
- Solid understanding of data modelling, schema design and performance optimisation for large, multi-entity datasets.
- 3+ years of experience in a data engineering, database development or EDW role, ideally in a multi-site or multi-venue environment.
- Working knowledge of Power BI or similar BI/reporting tools, including how the data layer supports report development.
- Experience in API services to support Data loading and integrations to the data warehouse
- Experience integrating data from disparate operational systems (POS, gaming, membership or similar) is desirable.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to take ownership of technical
- Ability to work autonomously in an offshore capacity, communicating clearly and proactively with an onshore team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in hospitality, retail or similar high-transaction-volume, multi-site environments is desirable.
