ABOUT THE ROLE

The Data Engineer will sit within the Steadfast Technologies One Data team and will design, implement, and support data pipelines and transformations that underpin reporting, analytics, machine learning, and other data services.

You will be required to consolidate internal and external data sources via standard patterns of ingest and data processing, enabling the organization to achieve timely access to insights and data services.

Responsibilities:

Develop and streamline data engineering practices within the organization.

Standardize and implement data pipeline patterns.

Align architecture with business requirements and broader business roadmaps.

Consolidate and prepare baseline data for downstream use.

Continuous improvement in data quality, reliability, and efficiency via automation.

Monitoring of Data Platform and security.

Data platform administration.

ABOUT YOU

Essential skills and qualifications:

• 5+ years experience in data engineering or transformation within the data and analytics space.
• College degree in software engineering or equivalent/relevant.
• Experience with Data Warehouse platform. (Working knowledge of Snowflake would be plus).
• Working knowledge of DBT.
• Experience with Python.
• Working knowledge of Platform management (security, governance).
• Ability to define and develop data integration patterns and pipelines, leveraging cloud microservices and SaaS.
• Ability to assess data complexity and transform into structured and consumable data marts.
• Understanding of both relational and dimensional data models mandatory.
• Proven experience coding and implementing cloud-based data pipelines.
• Experience with processing and deriving insights from large volumes of semi-structured data.
• Working knowledge of different data sources including RDBMS and specifically SQL Server, Azure SQL, blob storage.
• Intermediate to Advanced SQL mandatory.
• Experience with XML and JSON data formats including XPath/XQuery preferable.
• Hands on experience setting up DevOps automation.
• Intermediate to Advanced coding skills, preferably Python and SQL Stored Procedures.
• Financial Services experience, preferably within insurance.
• Knowledge and experience in agile project delivery methodology.
• Strong customer focus, able to effectively communicate to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Sound experience influencing and building internal stakeholder relationships.
