The Role
The RTDS (Real-Time Data Processing Systems) Engineer supports the Platform Engineering team by being involved extensively and being responsible for the end-to-end software development lifecycle and support for all work transitioned from the SBC Group (incl. projects, change request, production fixes, etc.). This includes analysis and design to development, implementation, testing, and support. S/He works with various stakeholders to understand/define functional and non-functional requirements and provide technical solutions with a main focus on the real-time data service platform.
How you'll contribute
- Designs and develops real-time data processing systems, which includes working with stakeholders to understand their requirements, designing solutions, developing code, and testing the systems to ensure that they meet the specified requirements.
- Works closely with stakeholders within the bank, including business users, data analysts, and other IT professionals, to understand their requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs.
- Integrates real-time data systems with other bank systems, which includes integrating RTDS systems with the bank's data warehouses, reporting systems, and other systems used to manage its data.
- Provides ongoing support for the bank's RTDS systems, resolving issues that arise, and ensuring that the systems continue to run smoothly and meet the bank's requirements.
- Supports a positive and collaborative digital delivery culture with a philosophy of continuous improvement, development, innovation, and excellence, while remaining in compliance with the bank's policies and procedures and upholding the highest standards of professional conduct
What we're looking for
- 3-5 years of experience in RTDS engineering or a related field
- Deep understanding of real-time data processing systems (RTDS) technologies and architecture
- Ability to design and implement RTDS systems
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, and C++
- Experience with big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of real-time data systems and how they are used in the banking industry
- Knowledge of RTDS technologies, including real-time data processing and analytics, event processing, and machine learning
- Familiarity with big data processing and storage systems
- Understanding of data privacy and security regulations, such as OWASP and PCI-DSS
- Knowledge of network protocols and infrastructure and how they impact RTDS performance and security
