Lead High-Impact Data Migration and Modernization Projects

As a Data Engineer, you will drive enterprise data modernization by building scalable architecture, leading migration initiatives, centralizing data systems, and strengthening API-driven integration. You will shape data governance, optimize pipelines, and elevate data quality to support smarter insights and operational agility across global teams.

The Qualifications We Seek

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics or Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer are an advantage

Experience

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in data engineering or a related role
  • Proven track record in executing data migration and data integration projects
  • Hands-on experience in developing and optimizing data pipelines, GraphQL APIs, and database services

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala for building and maintaining data pipelines
  • Hands-on experience with ETL or ELT tools such as ApacheAirflow, AWSGlue, or Talend
  • Strong expertise in AWS including S3, Redshift, RDS, and Lambda, or other cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP
  • Proficiency in SQL with familiarity in relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL
  • Familiarity with non-relational databases such as MongoDB and DynamoDB
  • Experience with big data frameworks such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Snowflake
  • Knowledge of API development including GraphQL and RESTful services
  • Proficiency in Git and experience using Bitbucket for version control and collaborative coding
  • Strong understanding of modern data warehousing solutions and distributed systems

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to adapt to new tools, techniques, and methodologies
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines

Your Daily Tasks

Data Architecture Execution

  • Implement and maintain the organization's data architecture to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance

Data Migration

  • Lead data migration initiatives from legacy systems to the new architecture
  • Design and execute processes to transfer data securely and efficiently

Data Centralization and Optimization

  • Build and optimize data pipelines and workflows to centralize data from multiple sources
  • Enable efficient data storage, retrieval, and processing

Database Communication Layer Development

  • Develop robust service-level APIs or middleware for seamless database interaction
  • Create and maintain GraphQL endpoints where applicable

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to understand data requirements
  • Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions

Data Quality Assurance

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems
  • Establish and enforce data quality standards and validation controls

Documentation

  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for data processes, pipelines, and architecture
