The Qualifications We Seek
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics or Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer are an advantage
Experience
- 1 to 2 years of experience in data engineering or a related role
- Proven track record in executing data migration and data integration projects
- Hands-on experience in developing and optimizing data pipelines, GraphQL APIs, and database services
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala for building and maintaining data pipelines
- Hands-on experience with ETL or ELT tools such as ApacheAirflow, AWSGlue, or Talend
- Strong expertise in AWS including S3, Redshift, RDS, and Lambda, or other cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP
- Proficiency in SQL with familiarity in relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL
- Familiarity with non-relational databases such as MongoDB and DynamoDB
- Experience with big data frameworks such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Snowflake
- Knowledge of API development including GraphQL and RESTful services
- Proficiency in Git and experience using Bitbucket for version control and collaborative coding
- Strong understanding of modern data warehousing solutions and distributed systems

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to adapt to new tools, techniques, and methodologies
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
Your Daily Tasks
Data Architecture Execution
- Implement and maintain the organization's data architecture to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance
Data Migration
- Lead data migration initiatives from legacy systems to the new architecture
- Design and execute processes to transfer data securely and efficiently
Data Centralization and Optimization
- Build and optimize data pipelines and workflows to centralize data from multiple sources
- Enable efficient data storage, retrieval, and processing
Database Communication Layer Development
- Develop robust service-level APIs or middleware for seamless database interaction
- Create and maintain GraphQL endpoints where applicable
Collaboration
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to understand data requirements
- Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
Data Quality Assurance
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems
- Establish and enforce data quality standards and validation controls
Documentation
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for data processes, pipelines, and architecture
