Qualifications

Educational Background

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics or Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer are an advantage

Experience

• At least 3 years of experience in data engineering or a related role
• Proven track record in executing data migration and integration projects
• Hands-on experience developing and optimizing data pipelines, GraphQL APIs, and database services

Required Technical Skills

• Proficiency in SQL, Python, Java, or Scala for building and maintaining data pipelines
• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, or Talend
• Strong expertise in AWS technologies including S3, Redshift, RDS, and Lambda, or equivalent cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP
• Proficiency in relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL, and non-relational databases such as MongoDB and DynamoDB
• Experience using Apache Spark, Hadoop, Snowflake, or similar big data frameworks for large-scale data processing
• Knowledge of API development, including GraphQL and RESTful services
• Proficiency in Git and experience using Bitbucket for collaborative development
• Familiarity with modern data warehousing solutions and distributed systems

Responsibilities

Data Architecture Execution

• Implement and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performing data architecture across the organization

Data Migration

• Lead data migration initiatives by designing and executing processes that transfer data from legacy systems into modernized environments

Data Centralization & Optimization

• Build and optimize data pipelines and workflows that centralize data from multiple sources for efficient storage and retrieval

Database Communication Layer Development

• Develop robust service-level APIs and middleware, including GraphQL endpoints, to enable seamless database communication

Collaboration

• Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to understand business requirements and implement effective data solutions

Data Quality Assurance

• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of organizational data across platforms and systems

Documentation

• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation covering data processes, pipelines, and architecture designs
