Description

Monitoring and maintaining day-to-day data centre operations to ensure the facility, infrastructure and systems remain safe, secure and operational.

Job Responsibilities

Monitor data centre facilities, equipment and infrastructure to ensure smooth operations.
Support the maintenance of data centre systems, equipment, cabling and related infrastructure.
Coordinate maintenance activities, equipment installation and vendor support.
Perform routine operational checks and monitor system alerts and availability.
Support basic troubleshooting and escalate technical or operational issues when required.
Support data centre security, access control and visitor management.
Assist with incident reporting, backup, disaster recovery, change and access management activities.
Maintain asset records, infrastructure documentation and operational reports.
Record maintenance activities, incidents and other operational information.
Support compliance requirements and ensure operational procedures and records are kept up to date.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in IT, Engineering, Facilities Management or a related discipline.
Experience in data centre operations, IT infrastructure, IT operations or a technical environment.
Basic understanding of data centre infrastructure, IT systems, security and operational processes.
Good problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
Able to work with vendors and different stakeholders.
Willing to support shift work or operational emergencies when required.

Preferred

ITIL Foundation or equivalent.
Data Centre, Infrastructure, Networking, Systems or Cloud certification.
Basic knowledge of security and compliance practices.
