Data Architect

The Data Architect is an individual contributor within the CTO organization.

The Data Architect will be a versatile and motivated technologist with a strong foundation in data architecture, data modeling, and regulatory reporting. She/He will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, reporting teams, and technology partners to design, implement, and optimize scalable data solutions that support regulatory and business requirements.

She/He will be responsible for defining and maintaining enterprise data architecture, ensuring data quality, integrity, and governance across systems. The role also involves identifying opportunities to enhance existing data structures and pipelines, particularly in support of regulatory reporting, and driving alignment with the bank's enterprise architecture standards and data governance frameworks.

Additionally, the Data Architect will play a key role in establishing best practices for data modeling, integration, and lifecycle management while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end data architecture solutions to support regulatory and management reporting
• Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with business and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with business, risk, compliance, and technology teams to understand data needs and translate them into scalable architecture solutions
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems, particularly for regulatory reporting
• Define and enforce data governance, standards, and best practices across the organization
• Assess and improve existing data architecture, pipelines, and reporting structures
• Support data integration across multiple platforms (on-premises, cloud, hybrid environments)
• Ensure alignment of data architecture with enterprise architecture guardrails
• Stay updated on regulatory requirements related to data reporting within the banking industry

Qualifications

Years of Experience:

• Typically 8–10 years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, or related roles
• At least 5 years of experience within the banking or financial services industry, preferably supporting regulatory reporting

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Advanced degree is a plus

Core Competencies

• Strong expertise in data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical) and data architecture design
• Experience in regulatory reporting frameworks and data requirements within banking
• Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and data lifecycle management
• Knowledge of data platforms and technologies (data warehouses, data lakes, ETL/ELT tools)
• Experience with cloud, on-premises, and hybrid data environments
• Familiarity with architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) is an advantage
