Data Analytics & Governance Lead (End-to-End Restructuring Project)
This role will support the Program Management Office (PMO) responsible for client's Global Business Services (GBS) restructuring initiative. The consultant will serve as a key member of the PMO team, leveraging Smartsheet, financial data, and program reporting tools to provide data-driven insights, governance support, executive reporting, and program performance analytics.
The role will focus on transforming complex project, resource, milestone, and financial data into actionable insights that support program leadership, workstream leads, and executive stakeholders in making informed decisions, proactively managing risks, and ensuring successful program execution.
Key Responsibilities:
1. PMO Governance & Program Support
The consultant will support program governance activities and ensure consistency across all workstreams by:
- Maintaining and administering Smartsheet as the primary PMO management and reporting platform.
- Supporting governance processes, reporting cycles, milestone tracking, and decision management.
- Managing RAID (Risks, Actions, Issues, Dependencies) logs and governance documentation.
- Coordinating program reporting requirements across multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
- Supporting Steering Committee, PMO Leadership, and Executive Review meetings.
- Ensuring project documentation is accurate, current, and aligned with PMO standards.
2. Smartsheet Administration & Reporting
The consultant will leverage Smartsheet as the central PMO tool to drive visibility and reporting across the restructuring initiative.
- Developing and maintaining Smartsheet dashboards, reports, workflows, and data repositories.
- Ensuring data quality and integrity across project schedules, resource plans, financial trackers, and governance artifacts.
- Creating automated reporting solutions to minimize manual effort and improve reporting accuracy.
- Supporting enhancement and optimization of Smartsheet structures and reporting capabilities.
- Consolidating information from multiple workstreams into integrated executive-level reporting.
- Providing ongoing support to project managers and workstream leads regarding Smartsheet reporting and analytics.
3. Data Analytics & Decision Support
A significant focus of this role will be providing analytical insights to support program leadership.
- Collecting, structuring, validating, and analyzing large datasets from multiple project and financial sources.
- Creating executive dashboards and KPI scorecards that provide visibility into program performance.
- Performing trend analysis, variance analysis, and root cause analysis across key program metrics.
- Identifying emerging risks, delays, capacity constraints, and performance gaps through proactive data analysis.
- Developing predictive and forward-looking reporting to support scenario planning and decision-making.
- Analyzing milestone achievement, schedule adherence, and workstream performance metrics.
- Presenting insights and recommendations to PMO leadership through executive-ready reports and presentations.
- Supporting data-driven governance discussions and executive decision-making processes.
4. Financial Analytics & Program Controls
The consultant will provide financial analysis and reporting support across the transformation program.
- Tracking program spend against approved budgets and forecasts.
- Supporting financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
- Monitoring project expenditures, accruals, invoices, and purchase orders.
- Performing budget variance analysis and identifying financial risks.
- Creating financial dashboards and reporting packs for leadership review.
- Supporting monthly and quarterly financial reporting cycles.
- Providing analytical insights regarding cost performance and resource investment effectiveness.
5. Resource Analytics & Capacity Planning
The consultant will support resource management through data-driven workforce analytics.
- Monitoring resource allocation and utilization across program workstreams.
- Developing resource capacity dashboards and forecasting models.
- Identifying potential resource constraints, overload situations, and staffing gaps.
- Supporting workforce planning and onboarding activities.
- Producing management reporting related to resource demand and capacity trends.
6. Executive Reporting & Business Intelligence
The consultant will develop and maintain executive reporting mechanisms that provide timely and actionable information to program leadership.
- Producing weekly, monthly, and ad hoc executive reporting packages.
- Creating visualization dashboards using Smartsheet, Excel, Power BI, and Microsoft 365 tools.
- Supporting preparation of Steering Committee presentations and leadership review materials.
- Developing concise management summaries highlighting key trends, risks, decisions, and recommendations.
- Translating complex datasets into clear narratives suitable for executive audiences.

Expected Outcomes:
- The Consultant will enhance program transparency, strengthen governance processes, improve financial and operational reporting, and provide actionable insights that enable the leadership team to effectively manage the GBS restructuring program. Through advanced Smartsheet reporting and data analytics capabilities, the consultant will help drive informed decision-making, proactive risk management, and successful program execution.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Analytics, or a related field preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, transformation, or related roles.
- Hands-on Smartsheet experience, including dashboard development, reporting, workflow automation, and portfolio reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated expertise financial analysis and reporting.
- Proven ability to analyze and synthesize complex datasets into clear executive-level insights and actionable recommendations.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage audiences at all levels.
- Highly adaptable and comfortable working in dynamic, fast-paced environments, with the ability to pivot priorities and respond effectively to evolving project requirements.
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting projects through changing priorities, shifting requirements, and evolving business needs, while maintaining a solutions-oriented and collaborative approach.
