Are you an experienced Project Manager ready to lead transformative cybersecurity initiatives Join Ciena's Security teama close-knit group of professionals dedicated to defending our company, products, and reputation. With increasing regulatory requirements, security threats, and customer expectations, we're expanding and tackling exciting challenges to build a proactive security program.
How You Will Contribute
- Lead end-to-end project management for cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring successful delivery from planning to closure.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and status reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Security, IT, Product, Engineering, and Compliance, to align priorities and objectives.
- Identify risks, issues, and dependencies, driving proactive mitigation strategies.
- Provide regular reports and metrics to stakeholders, highlighting progress, improvements, and the current state of the security posture.
- Drive continuous improvement in project management practices, governance, and reporting.
- Optimize resource allocation to maximize project efficiency and effectiveness.
The Must Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (Master's degree is a plus).
- 6+ years of proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably in cybersecurity or information security.
- Strong understanding of vulnerability management practices, tools, and methodologies.
- Proficiency in Agile project management methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) with certifications such as CSM, CSPO, or CSP-SM.
- Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, and Office 365 for project management and documentation.
- Knowledge of common security frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO) and industry standards.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical information effectively to diverse stakeholders.
- Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or PMP are advantageous.
Nice to Haves
- Experience managing diverse teams of cybersecurity professionals.
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, best practices, and industry standards.
- Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
- Agile coaching principles and practices expertise.
- Proven track record of delivering results in fast-paced environments with multiple simultaneous projects.
