Job Summary
The Custody Officer is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of custody operations and ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of securities and cash transactions. The role serves as a key point of contact for institutional clients, Account Officers, regulators, custodians, depositories, and other market participants on all custody-related matters.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the accurate and timely settlement, safekeeping, and administration of securities and cash transactions, ensuring the protection of client assets under custody.
- Manage and approve reconciliations, record maintenance, and asset holdings across registries, depositories, custodians, and settlement accounts to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Supervise the end-to-end processing of mandatory and voluntary corporate actions, including client communications, instruction management, and settlement of related proceeds and entitlements.
- Serve as the primary operational contact for institutional clients and Account Officers, ensuring effective handling of custody-related transactions, inquiries, reporting requirements, fund orders, and tax services.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls, mitigate operational risks, lead the custody operations team, and drive service excellence and continuous process improvement.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in custody operations, securities services, trust banking, investment operations, or related financial services functions.
- At least 3-5 years of managerial or supervisory experience in custody services, securities operations, or asset servicing.
- Strong knowledge of securities settlement, asset servicing, corporate actions, cash management, and custody operations.
