Job Qualifications

  • Graduate of Maritime Studies, HR Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in crewing operations (domestic or international shipping).
  • Knowledge of MLC 2006, STCW, ISM Code, MARINA regulations, and ISO 9001/45001 Standards.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and HR/crewing management systems.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Crew Planning & Manning
  • Develop and maintain crew rotation schedules in line with STCW and safe manning requirements.
  • Ensure smooth and compliant execution of crew changes (on-signers and off-signers) in accordance with company policies.
  • Recruitment & Selection of Shipboard Crew
  • Act as the primary contact for recruiting shipboard staff and engaging potential candidates.
  • Review and update job postings for Deck and Engine Officers across multiple platforms.
  • Establish and maintain hiring standards and qualifications in compliance with maritime regulations and company needs.
  • Conduct outreach and advertising through networking and online/offline channels.
  • Verify licenses, certificates, and sea service records via MARINA and other regulatory agencies.
  • Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS)
  • Schedule and conduct PDOS for all newly hired crew, ensuring understanding of company policies, safety protocols, and operational expectations.
  • Initial Screening & Shortlisting of Candidates
  • Conduct initial screenings through interviews, background checks, testing, and document validation.
  • Present shortlisted candidates to management for final selection.
  • Orientation on Crew Benefits & Compliance
  • Provide orientation sessions to ensure crew members understand their benefits, entitlements, and company policies.
  • Update and communicate any changes to benefits packages or regulatory requirements.
  • Crew Management
  • Monitor crew motivation, performance, and compliance with company and statutory requirements.
  • Track crew changes and maintain updated crew lists for salary computation and contractual compliance.
  • Review and monitor crew contracts, license validity, and certification renewal schedules.
  • Endorsement & Pre-Employment Coordination
  • Endorse qualified candidates for assessment and pre-employment interviews with the OM.
  • Prepare medical referral letters and coordinate pre-employment medical examinations with accredited clinics.
  • Crew Records & Documentation
  • Coordinate with payroll in charge on payroll, remittances, and final pay.
  • Maintain accurate and updated crew 201 files and applicant records.
  • Conduct periodic audits of crew records to ensure readiness for compliance checks and inspections.
  • Recruitment Networks & Advertising
  • Source qualified seafarers through networking, advertisements, job fairs, and online platforms.
  • Build and sustain a steady pool of qualified candidates to meet operational demands.
  • Setting Hiring Standards
  • Review and update hiring standards and qualifications for shipboard personnel in line with evolving regulations and company requirements.

  • Prepare, maintain, and submit the following reports on schedule:

  • Crew Concerns & Resolution Report

  • Compliance & Regulatory Reporting (MARINA, P&I, Petron, etc.)
  • Crew Feedback & Satisfaction Report
  • Weekly Accomplishment Report
  • Compliance
  • Ensure full compliance with MARINA inspections, ISM Code, MLC 2006, STCW, and accreditation requirements of P&I Clubs, Petron, and other stakeholders.
