Role Description The Crewing Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Calabarzon, Philippines. This role is responsible for overseeing end-to-end crew management activities, including planning crew rotations, coordinating recruitment and deployment, and ensuring that vessels are staffed with qualified and compliant maritime professionals. The Crewing Manager works closely with principals, internal departments, and external partners to align crew competencies with operational requirements, contractual obligations, and international regulations. Daily tasks include monitoring crew performance and documentation, managing contracts and payroll-related information, resolving crewing issues, and maintaining accurate records in crewing systems. The role also involves supporting training plans, succession pipelines, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance crew welfare, retention, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Experience in crew management or maritime human resources, including crew planning, deployment, and compliance with international maritime regulations.
  • Knowledge of ship management operations, maritime labor conventions, and industry standards related to seafaring personnel.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple vessels, schedules, and documentation accurately.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with crew members, principals, training institutions, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency with office productivity tools and crewing or HR information systems for data management and reporting.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and sound judgment in handling crew-related concerns, emergencies, and operational challenges.
  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Transportation, Marine Engineering, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in a maritime crewing or ship management company is highly advantageous; familiarity with international and local maritime regulatory bodies is a plus.
