Credit Risk Manager / Credit Approver - Large Corporates

Our client is an established Asian bank with a long-standing presence in Singapore and a strong franchise supporting corporate clients across Asia. As part of its continued growth, the bank is seeking an experienced Credit Risk professional to support the assessment, approval and ongoing management of large corporate credit exposures.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior business stakeholders and management teams while playing a key role in maintaining prudent credit standards across a diversified corporate banking portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and approve credit applications for large corporate and commercial banking clients
- Conduct detailed financial analysis, cash flow assessment and risk evaluation of borrowers and related entities
- Review credit proposals submitted by Relationship Managers and provide independent credit recommendations
- Assess transaction structures, collateral packages, covenant frameworks and risk mitigation measures
- Monitor portfolio quality and identify emerging credit risks within assigned sectors and client groups
- Participate in credit discussions with Relationship Managers and senior management
- Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory requirements and risk management standards
- Support periodic credit reviews, portfolio monitoring and stress-testing exercises
- Provide guidance and challenge to business units on credit risk matters where appropriate
Requirements
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant Corporate Banking Credit Risk, Credit Analysis or Credit Approval experience
- Strong experience evaluating large corporate credit exposures
- Solid understanding of financial statement analysis, credit structuring and risk assessment
- Experience covering industries such as manufacturing, trading, commodities, transportation, real estate or diversified corporates would be advantageous
- Familiarity with bilateral loans, syndicated facilities, trade finance and treasury-related credit exposures
- Strong analytical, judgement and decision-making capabilities
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders across Front Office, Risk and Senior Management teams
- Ability to communicate effectively in Mandarin would be advantageous as the role involves regular interaction with Mandarin-speaking clients and overseas stakeholders, including the review and discussion of business, financial and credit-related documentation where such communication is conducted in Mandarin.
