Role Overview:
The Credit Risk Lead will collaborate with the teams across the organization to ensure the Risk initiatives are implemented and the KPIs monitored, in alignment with the Bank's goals, while adhering to local regulatory compliance.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Risk Management, Policies and Procedures and Compliance
- Develop, recommend, implement and support credit risk management policies and procedures, ensuring they are in line with the Bank's risk appetite and comply to local regulatory requirements
- Work closely with Collections, Analytics, Data, Operations, Business team to continuously improve the process and provide recommendations / strategies
- Develop, recommend, implement and support Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) risk policies that align with the Bank's strategy and objectives and comply to local regulatory requirements
- Conduct periodic policy and procedural updates such as desk instruction manuals, operational flow charts, summary of findings, presentations, policies & procedures manual, business continuity manual, etc.
- Continuously evaluate the performance of asset quality KPIs and credit operations KPIs and provide / recommend strategic recommendations and adjustments to improve KPIs and efficiency performance
- Educate and train employees on credit risk and ESG regulations and industry practices
- Perform independent credit review, audit review or any governance review process with respect to credit operations, internal / external audit or regulatory requirements
MIS Analysis, Data Analysis & Reports
- Perform ongoing and timely monitoring and conduct analysis of portfolio and other MIS in alignment to key performance indicators on a regular basis and as needed for management decision
- Prepare regular reports and presentation for management review including usage of data visualization tools to highlight KPIs, performance metrics, trends and actionable insights
- Develop, test, audit and analyze internal data sources
- Conduct key research and be up to breast with Credit Risk practices and regulations, industry comparative analysis, competitive analysis, etc.
- Perform data extraction, data analysis for portfolio management and operational review
Business Support & Collaboration
- Support, partner, interact and collaborate with stakeholders such as Sales, Marketing, Collections, Operations, Product, Information Technology, Audit, etc. for new product development, updates, report deliverables, portfolio analysis, regulatory alignment, process improvement efficiency, internal & external customer feedback, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field (Master's or MBA preferred)
- With at least 5 years of experience / working knowledge in unsecured consumer loans specifically credit cards and / or loans (personal, corporate salary loans, BNPL, microloans, etc.) and with experience in credit operations (ex: credit evaluation, collections & recovery, credit risk management, policy management, fraud, etc.)
- Strong background in data analysis, consumer lending credit operations, process improvement analysis, performance metrics analysis
- Strong preference with experience in the consumer / retail banking industry and familiar with credit bureau tools
- Familiar with BSP Regulations and Circulars on consumer lending
- Knowledge in programming coding / data extraction (ex: SAS, SQL, Python, R, etc.) preferred but not a requirement
- Knowledgeable on ESG and sustainable finance topics and reports
