Job Description

Job Summary:

To assist Credit Policy Head in:

  • Ensuring the development and/or updating as well as the issuance of the relevant guidelines/policies (and procedures as necessary) governing the lending activities of the Bank.
  • Fulfillment of Credit oversight in reviewing credit policies from RCBC Bankard, PPCs and attending credit committee/ portfolio review meetings
  • Monitoring of policy deviations and exceptions, ensure proper approvals were secured, and that deviations remain within approved limits.
  • Adjust credit policies based on delinquency trends, business targets and regulatory changes.

How will you contribute:

Credit Policy Formulation and/or Updating:

  • Assist in conceptualization, formulation, and/or updating of the guidelines/policies and procedures governing the credit or lending activities of the Bank
  • Ensure annual updating of Credit Policy Manuals
  • Assist in addressing relevant internal and external audit findings via issuance and/or updating of credit policies and implementing guidelines.
  • Provide guidance to internal customers in the interpretation and implementation of the provisions of the approved credit guidelines/policies as issued via the Riz Library.
  • Assist in conducting town halls, roadshows and similar activities meant for promulgation and clarification of the latest credit policies

Exceptions Handling and Monitoring

  • Ensure exceptions/ deviations to credit policy are monitored regularly, duly approved by delegated authority, remains within acceptable levels relative to total portfolio, and reported regularly to relevant units and Senior Management.
  • Implement policy changes to minimize exceptions and improve approval process of exceptions, while remaining aligned with the credit risk appetite of the Bank.

Insurance Companies Accreditation:

  • Conduct annual review/evaluation of the accreditation of insurance companies in accordance with internal policies and conditions of the approval.
  • Work with and coordinate with various units involved in gathering information needed to accredit the companies, as well as in cascading to concerned units the prescribed risk limits of accredited companies

Operations Manual, Policies and Procedures Review:

  • Review the other Lending/Business Units Operations Manuals, guidelines/policies and procedures as may be assigned to ensure salient matters specifically regarding credit related matters (as deemed applicable) are considered and/or addressed.

Credit Policy Oversight:

  • Assist in reviewing and endorsing for approval Credit Policy proposals from the RCBC Bankard Services Corp (RBSC) Credit Policy Group
  • Attend monthly Portfolio Reviews and Credit Committee Meetings of various Lending Groups as delegated or in the absence of Credit Policy Head

What will make you successful:

  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Management and Finance. Post-graduate degree and/or relevant trainings are an advantage.
  • Must have a strong working knowledge in the development of policies related to commercial, corporate, SME loans, and consumer loans.
  • Significant exposure in the credit cycle for business/consumer loans, knowledge in BSP regulations and best practices in the industry
  • With previous experience as a Relationship Manager/Marketing Assistant, Loans Operations or Credit Analyst for Commercial Loans preferred.
  • At least three (3) years experience in policy formulation and/or in any credit related functions.
