Job Summary
SBM LEASING / WHOLESALE BANKING SEGMENT
The
CreditHead is responsible for the evaluation, structuring, and recommendation of leasing and loan facilities in accordance with SBM Leasing's credit policies and risk standards.
The role involves conducting in-depth financial and credit analysis, identifying key risks, recommending appropriate mitigants, and ensuring that all proposals submitted for approval are complete, accurate, and well-supported.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
Credit Evaluation and Proposal Preparation
- Prepares comprehensive Credit Proposals (CP) based on thorough financial, industry, and borrower analysis.
- Evaluates creditworthiness of borrowers.
- Assesses and recommends appropriate facility structures, ensuring alignment with client requirements and risk appetite.
- Identifies key risks and propose appropriate mitigants and covenants.
- Ensures completeness and accuracy of all supporting documents and analysis.
Term Loan Review and Portfolio Monitoring
- Performs periodic review of term loan accounts, including assessment of repayment capacity, financial performance, and compliance with approved terms and conditions.
- Analyzes loan utilization, repayment trends, and compliance terms and conditions of existing accounts in the portfolio to identify early warning signals.
- Recommends appropriate actions such as restructuring, renewal, or tightening of credit terms where necessary.
- Supports credit reviews for renewal, line increases, or restructuring of existing term loan facilities.
Financial Analysis
- Prepares detailed financial analysis based on audited and/or management financial statements.
- Validates financial information in accordance with internal policies and ensure reliability of data used.
- Assesses borrower's repayment capacity using financial ratios, cash flow analysis, and projections.
- Prepares and processes credit scorecards using applicable systems (e.g., Optimist, Excel-based tools, Camelot).
Client Engagement and Due Diligence
- Participates in client calls, site visits, and interviews with Relationship Managers (RM/TH) to understand business operations and risk profile.
- Conducts ocular inspections and validate business existence and operational soundness.
- Coordinates with clients and RMs for document requirements and clarifications.
Presentation and Stakeholder Coordination
- Assists Relationship Managers (RMs) in presenting and defending credit proposals before the Credit Committee meeting.
- Coordinates with Internal Risk Assessment (IRA) Team and ensure timely submission of required accounts.
- Addresses queries and incorporate feedback from approvers and risk units.
Governance, Compliance, and Risk Management
- Ensures strict adherence to internal credit policies, regulatory requirements, and approval conditions.
- Stays updated on policy changes, market trends, and risk management practices.
- Ensures all proposals are submitted within prescribed processes and meet quality standards.
- Maintains proper documentation and filing of credit proposals, scorecards, and supporting analysis in shared systems.
Planning and Coordination
- Works closely with Relationship Managers on deal structuring, documentation, and timelines.
- Assists in scheduling client visits, submission timelines, and committee presentations.
- Ensures efficient turnaround time for credit evaluation and approvals.
Administrative
- Uploads Credit Proposals and scorecards to designated repositories.

Job Qualifications
Years of Related Experience: 1 - 2 years of experience in credit evaluation, financial analysis, or banking/leasing operations.
Educational Attainment/ Required course (if applicable): Bachelor's / College Degree in Industrial, Computer Science/Information Technology, Business Studies/ Administration/Management
