Role Description

This part-time, on-site Creative Writing Instructor role is based at St. Paul College Pasig in Pasig City. The instructor will design and deliver engaging creative writing lessons, workshops, and activities that develop students skills in various genres such as poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and instructional materials, facilitating classroom discussions and peer critiques, and providing individualized feedback on students writing. The instructor will also assess student performance, maintain accurate records, and coordinate with other faculty members to align creative writing activities with the school's academic and values-based goals. Additional tasks may include mentoring interested students, supporting school literary events or publications, and contributing to curriculum enhancement in language and literature.

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Writing and Creative Writing, with the ability to model clear, engaging, and imaginative work for students.
  • Demonstrated experience in Teaching and Teaching Writing, with skills in planning lessons, managing classrooms, and using diverse instructional strategies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing, Literature, English, Education, or a related field; advanced studies or relevant certifications are an advantage.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English, with strong grammar, editing, and communication skills.
  • Experience teaching or working with adolescents in an academic or workshop setting, preferably in a school environment.
  • Ability to create an inclusive, respectful, and encouraging classroom atmosphere that supports diverse voices and perspectives.
  • Organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple classes, grading, and lesson preparation on a part-time schedule.
  • Willingness to support the school's mission, values, and character formation programs, and to collaborate with faculty and staff.
