ROLE OVERVIEWWe are looking for a Senior Accountant to join the finance team of an international humanitarian organization. The role will support financial operations, reporting, budgeting, compliance, audits, and internal controls while coordinating with headquarters, field offices, and internal departments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES• Review, approve, and record financial transactions using the computerized accounting system.
• Generate account balances and analyze transaction details.
• Process payments and maintain proper financial documentation.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial reports for headquarters and field offices.
• Review budget vs. actual expenses and prepare financial reports.
• Prepare and review budgets and financial forecasts.
• Analyze financial data and recommend appropriate budget or cost-center adjustments.
• Support internal audits, external audits, project expenditure verification, and audit-related requirements.
• Assist in addressing audit findings and monitoring their resolution.
• Evaluate and help strengthen internal controls across financial processes.
• Supervise a small team of accountants and provide technical guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Coordinate with headquarters, field offices, HR, procurement, payments, and other internal departments.
• Support finance process improvements and special assignments.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• Minimum 2 years of CPA experience.
• Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, audit, and internal controls.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Preferably with experience using Microsoft Dynamics.
• Experience in team supervision is an advantage.
• Willing to undergo 2 months of onsite training.
• Can start immediately or within a short notice period.
