Country Director, Philippines (Renewable Energy Platform)
A regional renewable energy platform is seeking a Country Head to lead its business in the Philippines. This individual will be responsible for driving the country's growth strategy, originating and developing investment opportunities, managing key stakeholder relationships, and overseeing the local team and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall country strategy and business growth plans in the Philippines
- Identify, evaluate, and advance renewable energy development and investment opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, regulators, utilities, landowners, investors, and other key stakeholders
- Lead project origination, development, commercial negotiations, and strategic partnerships
- Oversee the execution of projects from early-stage development through to construction readiness
- Manage local teams, external advisors, and development partners
- Support financing, investment approvals, and capital raising activities where required
- Monitor market developments, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics to identify growth opportunities
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, corporate governance standards, and company policies
- Represent the platform externally with industry participants, government bodies, and strategic partners
Key Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline
- Significant experience within the renewable energy sector is a must
- Strong understanding of the Philippine energy market and regulatory landscape
- Fluency in English and Filipino, with the ability to engage effectively with local stakeholders, government agencies, regulators, landowners, and business partners across the Philippines
- Proven experience originating, developing, and executing renewable energy projects in the Philippines
- Track record of leading complex negotiations and managing multiple stakeholders
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and scale a business in a dynamic environment
This role will be based in Manila, Philippines.
