Job Summary
Responsible for ensuring accurate inventory records by conducting regular physical counts, reconciling inventory balances with SAP, and validating inventory transactions. Collaborates with warehouse, procurement, and production teams to maintain proper documentation and inventory alignment. Supports month-end and year-end closing, inventory valuation, and audit requirements while monitoring inventory aging and obsolescence. Ensures compliance with internal controls and contributes to process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and reporting.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Conduct physical inventory count regularly and prepare reconciliations between physical inventory and SAP balance. Analyze inventory data to identify discrepancies, variances, or unusual movements, and coordinate with relevant departments to investigate and resolve issues.
2. Validate inventory transactions and recording in SAP including receipts, issues, adjustments, transfers, and returns in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
3. Work closely with warehouse, procurement, and production teams to ensure proper documentation and alignment of inventory balances.
4. Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing inventory reports, journal entries, and inventory valuations.
5. Monitor and report on inventory aging, obsolescence, and slow-moving stock; assist in the calculation of appropriate provisions.
6. Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards related to inventory management.
7. Support the preparation of internal and external audit schedules related to inventory and provide necessary documentation and responses.
8. Collaborate with cost accounting and finance teams to ensure proper valuation of inventory, including standard cost updates and variance analysis.
9. Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy, efficiency, and reporting capabilities.
Job Qualifications:
1. Graduate of Accountancy or any business-related course (CPA is an advantage but not required)
2. At least 2 years of experience (3-5 years in cost/inventory accounting is preferred)
3. With experience in ERP systems, preferably SAP
4. Proficient in Excel (advanced level)
5. Good communication skills
6. Background in FMCG, Retail, or Import/Export industries is a plus.
