We are looking for a detail-oriented Cost Estimator with exceptional analytical skills to prepare estimates and bids for clients. Candidates must have experience reading blueprints and plans, and using industry-related software such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, and SketchUp.

As a Cost Estimator, Your Duties And Responsibilities Include

ESTIMATING

  • Respond to invitations to tender based on project requirements and client specifications.
  • Review and interpret construction plans, drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
  • Identify and select specific trade requirements for tendering.
  • Perform accurate quantity take-offs and measurements using applicable estimating and construction software.
  • Prepare detailed estimates, BOQs, and tenders based on project measurements and requirements.
  • Estimate construction projects across the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.
  • Calculate and manage cost-related aspects of construction projects.
  • Assist in establishing client requirements and undertake cost analysis, contract documentation, and bills of quantities.
  • Prepare detailed budget breakdowns and bid summaries.
  • Communicate with Project Estimators and relevant stakeholders regarding queries, drawings, specifications, and clarifications.

TENDER/BID MANAGEMENT

  • Review and break down tender documents to identify project scope, trade requirements, and deliverables.
  • Develop the scope of works based on tender BOQs and project requirements.
  • Prepare and issue bid requests to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Liaise with subcontractors to obtain pricing, clarify scope, and ensure quotations meet project requirements.
  • Review, compare, and analyze subcontractor quotations.
  • Prepare bid summaries and ensure all required costs are captured accurately.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting competitive and comprehensive tenders within required deadlines.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Liaise and coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and other project stakeholders.
  • Follow up with subcontractors to ensure works are completed on time and according to project requirements.
  • Proactively communicate and provide schedule updates to clients and all other parties involved throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and Gantt charts.
  • Monitor subcontractor activities, progress, and complete works against the project schedule.
  • Ensure projects are effectively coordinated and delivered within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Identify potential delays, cost issues, and project risks, and communicate them proactively to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, estimates, tender information, and correspondence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/College Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or any equivalent field.
  • Proven experience in construction estimating, quantity surveying, tendering, preparing budgets and bid summaries, and/or project management.
  • Strong understanding of construction plans, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents.
  • Strong understanding of construction costs, budgeting, and project requirements.
  • Experience working on residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects.
  • Experience coordinating and communicating with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and construction-related software such as Autodesk AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, or equivalent platforms.
  • Experience creating and monitoring project schedules/Gantt charts is highly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, multitasking, and time-management skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong client service and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and resolving project and cost-related issues.
  • Amenable to working on holidays when required.
  • Willing to be assigned to Subic or Clark.
