Hi! We're Smartsourcing, and we're looking for an experienced onsite Cost Accountant to support our clients manufacturing operations. In this role, you'll work closely with senior stakeholders and operational teams to deliver accurate cost analysis, profitability insights, and variance reporting that drive smarter planning and performance. From product costing and inventory valuation to budgeting and forecasting, you'll play a hands-on role in improving efficiency, margins, and financial outcomes across the business.

About the Role

As a Cost Accountant, you will deliver accurate financial analysis and cost insights to support senior stakeholders and manufacturing operations. The role focuses on product and customer profitability, product costing, inventory valuation, budgeting, forecasting, and production variance reporting, while continuously challenging processes to improve efficiency and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Budget & Forecasts: Prepare annual factory budget and quarterly factory forecasts, ensuring alignment with company objectives and financial targets.
• Manufacturing variances: Weekly reporting on the following variances to budget/forecast. Work with management to find solutions to material variances:

*Production variances

*Purchasing variances

*Stock take variances

*Recovery variances

• New Product / Market Pricing: Create financial costing for new product development through business partnering with operations, procurement and sales teams. Provide recommendations on customer pricing and feasibility of products. Periodically review market trends and cost movements in the business to identify the need and value of any price adjustments.
• Product Costings: Ensure accuracy of product costings (including variable and overhead cost allocations) within the ERP system, work closely with production planners to ensure accuracy of Bill of Materials. Role standards annually as part of the budget process. Ensure accurate standard costs for manufactured products and purchased materials.
• Customer & product profitability: Review customer and product profitability regularly and recommend changes to management to ensure health margins.
• Ad Hoc tasks and continues improvement: Assist with Ad Hoc tasks within the finance team. Identifying and implementing process and profit improvement initiatives. Maintenance of savings pipeline and tracking of savings through the P&L. Assist with the preparation of capital expenditure proposals and business case evaluations.

About You

Previous Experience and Qualifications

• CA/CPA/CIMA qualified.
• Experience in costing products in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment.

Skill Requirements

• High level of detail orientation and sound commercial acumen.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel & SAP(ERP)
• Ability to build and maintain positive and effective business relationships.
