Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and record all project revenues, expenses, and financial transactions.
  • Maintain accurate project cost records and ensure timely processing of payments, purchase orders, and supplier invoices.
  • Track project costs against approved budgets and identify cost variances or overruns.
  • Assist project managers in monitoring project financial performance and implementing cost control measures.
  • Prepare progress billings and validate supporting documents for client invoicing.
  • Monitor subcontractor billings and verify compliance with contract terms.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly project financial reports, including cash flow forecasts and budget updates.
  • Maintain accurate records of project assets, machinery, equipment, and related operating costs.
  • Monitor inventory movements, material consumption, and reconcile material costs with project records.
  • Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and site teams to ensure accurate financial and inventory reporting.
  • Ensure complete and organized financial documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Ensure project transactions comply with company policies, accounting standards, and government regulations.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate financial records and reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Financial Management, Accounting Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 24 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction, engineering, infrastructure, or other project-based industries.
  • Experience in project cost accounting, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of procurement, inventory control, and asset management is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with accounting or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or similar).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with project teams and head office.
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced project environment.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
