Job Description

Technical & Systems Skills

Strong knowledge of:

  • Standard cost systems and inventory valuation
  • Material, labor, and overhead cost structures
  • Month-end close processes related to manufacturing costs
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP (CO, FI, MM modules), preferably QAD background.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, analysis models); Power BI or other analytics tools is a plus.
  • Experience supporting audits and compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements.

Analytical & Business Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret complex cost data and translate it into clear financial insights.
  • Skilled in identifying cost drivers, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Capable of working with large data sets under tight timelines.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Effective communication skills to partner with: Operations and manufacturing teams; Plant controllers and regional finance
  • Ability to clearly explain financial and costing concepts to non-finance partners.
  • Comfortable working in a matrixed, global organization.

Experience:

3–6 years of relevant experience in cost accounting, preferably within:

  • Automotive manufacturing
  • Tier 1 / Tier 2 manufacturing environments
  • Multinational or shared services organizations (GBS/SSC)

Hands-on experience with:

  • Standard costing and variance analysis
  • BOMs, routings, labor and overhead absorption
  • Product costing, cost roll-ups, and cost updates

Exposure to plant finance or strong collaboration with operations/manufacturing teams is highly desirable.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Management Accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (CPA, CMA, ACCA) is preferred.
