Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client is a well-established food manufacturing and distribution company in Australia, with over 40 years of operation and a solid reputation for operational excellence. Known for its supportive, team-first atmosphere, the company thrives on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

To support their expanding operations, they are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join their team and provide critical support in monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on production and operational costs to help drive informed financial decision-making.

This is a hybrid position requiring alignment with Australian business hours (6:00 AM 3:00 PM Manila time, Monday Friday).

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on cost variances related to manufacturing, inventory, and operational expenses
  • Prepare detailed cost reports and assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings
  • Maintain and update standard costing models and support budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Reconcile cost accounts and investigate discrepancies between actual and expected costs
  • Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to analyze cost drivers and support cost control initiatives
  • Assist in inventory valuation and ensure accurate costing of materials, labor, and overhead
  • Provide cost analysis to support pricing strategies, capital projects, and business decisions
  • Support internal audits and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
  • Maintain and improve cost accounting systems and documentation
  • Communicate financial insights to internal stakeholders through regular reporting and analysis

Skills, Experience & Qualification


  • Minimum of 4 years experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, or a similar role
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in general accounting software and Excel
  • Ability to interpret financial data and present findings clearly to stakeholders
  • Knowledge of inventory valuation methods, cost allocation principles, and budgeting processes
