Job Overview
We're helping our client, a fast-growing e-commerce company, find a Cost Accountant to ensure accurate inventory valuation, COGS reporting, and multi-location inventory reconciliation across the organization.
In this role, you will take ownership of costing accuracy, inventory integrity, and month-end reporting. You will partner closely with Operations to maintain precise item setup, transfer pricing, and cost methods while supporting continuous improvements in accounting processes.
Responsibilities:
- Review and validate finished goods costing by SKU, location, and legal entity.
- Ensure COGS and inventory valuations are accurately reflected in NetSuite.
- Manage reporting for inventory deposits and in-transit inventory (vendor warehouse and inter-location).
- Reconcile inventory quantities by location to ensure alignment between perpetual and physical counts.
- Research and resolve variances between NetSuite and warehouse/WMS systems.
- Oversee and coordinate periodic cycle counts and annual physical inventory audits.
- Manage monthly reporting for Inventory, COGS, and inventory-related liabilities.
- Partner with Operations for accurate item setup, transfer pricing management, and costing methodology.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for cost accounting and inventory processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Supply Chain.
- 35 years of experience in cost accounting or inventory accounting.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
- Software proficiency: NetSuite (inventory module experience required),
- Microsoft Excel, and Google Workspace.
- Experience with multi-entity, multi-location inventory management in NetSuite.
- Understanding of inventory costing methods
- Experience working with Wholesale, DTC eCommerce, and Marketplace sales environments.
