Role Overview
The Senior Manager, Corporate Strategy & Commercial Growth serves as a vital strategic and financial partner to executive leadership, driving the organization's long-term growth agenda, market expansion, and commercial performance. Sitting at the intersection of corporate strategy, FP&A, and business development, this role is responsible for converting executive vision into actionable financial and operational blueprints.
The position leads enterprise-wide business planning, performs deep-dive business diagnostics, models commercial viability for new growth initiatives, and equips cross-functional leaders with the financial acumen needed to maximize top-line revenue and gross profit margins.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Planning & Commercial Growth
- Lead the formulation and rollout of the enterprise strategic roadmap, aligning long-term corporate objectives with operational targets and annual financial budgets.
- Evaluate new commercial growth vectors—including market entry, business model innovations, new product/service concepts, and pricing strategies—to drive continuous expansion.
- Identify, evaluate, and structure strategic partnerships, alliances, and commercial agreements to expand market reach and profitability.
Financial Decision Support & Commercial Analytics
- Develop financial advisory tools, viability assessment templates, and business case models (P&L, cash flow, and sensitivity/risk analysis) to evaluate capital investments, promotional strategies, and cost-savings initiatives.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual top-to-bottom performance reviews; analyze variance drivers across business units and recommend actionable interventions for revenue and profit maximization.
- Establish and monitor unit economics, gross profit strategy, and key operational metrics to identify performance gaps and optimization opportunities.
Market Intelligence & Business Diagnostics
- Conduct thorough market assessments, competitive benchmarking, and industry trend analyses to uncover systemic risks, shifts in consumer behavior, and emerging growth opportunities.
- Perform end-to-end organizational and business diagnostics to streamline operational processes, eliminate inefficiencies, and resolve profitability bottlenecks.
Cross-Functional Advisory & Enablement
- Serve as an internal strategic advisor to non-finance business units (Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, HR), guiding proponents through scenario building and financial feasibility.
- Design and facilitate training programs (e.g., Finance Bootcamps) to upskill operational leads and functional managers on P&L management, data analytics, and strategic execution.
- Synthesize complex financial and strategic insights into compelling executive presentations, board decks, and decision frameworks for the C-suite.
Qualifications & Profile
Education & Professional Certifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master's in Finance/Applied Mathematics, or relevant certifications (e.g., Agile Project Management) are highly preferred.
Professional Experience
- 8 to 12 years of progressive experience in Corporate Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Corporate Strategy, or Financial Advisory, with at least 3–4 years in a managerial or senior lead capacity.
- Demonstrated track record of providing strategic decision support to C-Suite and executive leadership, directly influencing profitability, gross margin improvement, and strategic direction.
- Proven experience in full-scope P&L management, enterprise budgeting models, sensitivity analysis, and multi-scenario financial modeling.
- Strong exposure to cross-functional business partnering, collaborating with Operations, Marketing, and Systems teams to execute growth programs.
- Experience in multi-brand retail, consumer-facing industries, real estate, or fast-paced corporate environments is highly desirable.
