The Credit Officer is responsible for conducting credit evaluation and risk assessment of corporate and commercial borrowers. The role involves preparing comprehensive credit proposals in line with the Bank's credit policies and standards, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining portfolio asset quality. The position also supports client engagement, credit monitoring, and remedial management to safeguard the Bank's interests and strengthen client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Conducts client interviews, calls, and site visits, coordinating with Relationship Management counterparts on proposed credit facilities
- Performs financial analysis and projections using historical data, industry benchmarks, trade checks, and verification with banks and creditors
- Endorses credit risk ratings or credit scores of accounts within endorsement limits
- Prepares risk analysis and overall recommendations for credit proposals
- Presents credit proposals to the appropriate approving committees or bodies
- Performs periodic reviews of assigned accounts, including line renewals and term loan reviews
- Assists Relationship Management counterparts in monitoring loan compliance and detecting weaknesses or deterioration
- Conducts client visits, meetings, and calls with Relationship Management Group counterparts
- Assists in preparing restructuring proposals and loan workout plans for assigned accounts
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Accountancy, or Finance
- Preferably with at least 1 year of experience in credit evaluation and analysis
- Knowledge of the 5C's of Credit, corporate banking products, credit policies, relevant lending regulations, and risk management principles
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel
- Strong analytical and credit risk analysis skills
- Above-average communication and presentation skills
