Job Description
Job Title: Corporate Accountant
Reporting: Finance & Admin Manager
Department: Finance & Admin
- PRE-REQUISITE:
- 2 years of professional experience in general accounting, preferably in cost center or support company environments.
- Familiarity with PEZA policies and regulations
- Proficient in accounting software and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). – particularly with QuickBooks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
- Proven experience with BIR compliance and comprehensive knowledge of BIR processes such as Income Tax, withholding tax, VAT, tax filings, audit and reconciliation
- Familiarity with SEC reporting and regulatory requirement
- Good communication skills
- RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Accounting and Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for assigned cost centers
- Ensure timely submission of financial statements, reconciliations, and reports.
- Monitor expenses and budgets, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Perform end-to-end Accounting Process (Journal Entry, Disbursement and payment process. These include preparation of Financial Statements such as Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statements)
- Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations to ensure that all intercompany transactions are accurately recorded and balanced.
Compliance and Regulatory Management:
- Ensure adherence to PEZA policies and compliance with PEZA rules and regulations.
- Handle PEZA-related documentation, reporting and filing. Act as the liaison for PEZA audits and inquiries.
- Manage the preparation and submission of annual reports, corporate filings, and financial disclosures in accordance with government regulations, including annual GIS, AFS, annual Tax Incentives Management and Transparency Act (TIMTA), and other clearances and monitoring.
- Liaise with government agencies and regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to evolving legal requirements especially with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Fiscal Incentives Review Board (FIRB)
Taxation and Government Compliance:
- Prepare and file statutory reports, including BIR, PEZA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Assist with the computation and remittance of taxes, including VAT, income tax, and PEZA incentives
- Support external audits and regulatory inspections by providing all required documentation and ensuring accurate reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of statutory reports to BIR including withholding tax filings, VAT, Income Tax and other government-mandated filings.
Financial Analysis and Support:
- Perform cost analysis and variance reports for cost centers.
- Collaborate with department heads to provide financial insights for decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of forecasts and budgets.
Internal Control and Process Improvement:
- Support internal audits by providing documentation and addressing inquiries.
- Identify opportunities to enhance processes and improve efficiencies in accounting operations.
General Administrative
- Assist in Administrative compliance, business permit renewals, fire/ sanitary permit, renewal of property insurance.
- Work with the Admin team for handling office operations functions, monitoring of supplies, facility updates. Office maintenance, if needed.
- TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
- Graduate of 4 Year Finance, Accounting Course
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) an advantage
- EXPERIENCE:
- Familiarity with QuickBooks, E-BIR, EFPS, Banking systems,
- Knowledge of Philippine tax laws and regulations.
- Experience working with PEZA-registered companies is an advantage.
