Job Summary
The Core Network Planning & Strategy Analyst is responsible for the planning, design, capacity forecasting, and evolution of the mobile core network to support current and future business requirements. The role provides technical expertise in Core Network architecture, technology assessment, network transformation initiatives, and long-term strategic planning across 4G LTE, IMS, VoLTE, and 5G Core environments.
The incumbent will collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams to develop scalable, resilient, and cost-effective Core Network solutions aligned with business growth, customer experience objectives, and emerging telecommunications technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Core Network Planning & Design
- Develop Core Network strategies, roadmaps, and architecture plans supporting business growth and network evolution.
- Perform network dimensioning, capacity planning, forecasting, and optimization for Core Network platforms.
- Design scalable, resilient, and high-availability Core Network architectures.
- Produce High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents.
- Evaluate traffic growth trends and forecast future Core Network requirements.
Core Network Architecture
- Design and assess architectures involving:
- EPC (Evolved Packet Core)
- IMS Core
- VoLTE / VoNR
- 5G Core
- PCRF / PCF
- HSS / UDM
- NRF
- AUSF
- NSSF
- UPF
Ensure interoperability between network domains and services.
Network Performance & Optimization
- Analyze Core Network KPIs and service performance.
- Investigate service degradation issues affecting:
- Voice
- Data
- IMS Services
- VoLTE
- VoNR
- Recommend corrective actions and optimization strategies.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, vendors, and business teams.
- Present technical solutions and architecture proposals to management and non-technical stakeholders.
- Lead technical discussions, workshops, and solution reviews.
Strategic Planning
- Support long-term network investment planning.
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis and technology evaluation.
- Prioritize Core Network investments based on business requirements, subscriber growth, and budget constraints.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in Telecommunications Core Network Planning, Design, Engineering, or Architecture.
- Experience with LTE EPC and IMS Core Networks.
- Exposure to 5G Core planning and architecture.
- Experience preparing HLD and LLD documents.
- Experience in capacity planning and network dimensioning.
